The first of the six artist's books Tillmans has made with Wako Works of Art, his gallery in Tokyo, published in 1999 for a two-part exhibition there, Recent Works and Concorde. He edited and designed it himself, as a small visual diary of the late 1990s.

The Wako books became a parallel record of his work, appearing every few years until Wako Book 6 in 2020, each sequenced as freely as his exhibitions. This first volume was printed in 1,200 copies. It was unavailable for a decade before Tillmans rescanned the original photographs for a facsimile on its twentieth anniversary.

This is the original 1999 edition, not the facsimile.
